Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 August 2026
This policy describes how the Groza portal (https://groza.dvsoftware.net) handles information when you sign in and use the service.
Who we are
Groza is an operator portal for ground-station Raspberry Pi cameras and related controls. It is operated at the URL above. It is not a consumer product and is intended for people who have been given access to a board.
Information we collect
When you sign in with Google we receive, from Google:
- your verified email address
- your name and basic profile (as provided by Google for the
openid,email, andprofilescopes)
We use that email as your Groza username. We do not request Google Drive, Gmail, contacts, or other sensitive scopes.
When you sign in with a username and password we store the account you (or an administrator) created, including the username and a hashed password. We do not store your Google password.
After you sign in, the browser holds a session cookie so we know you are logged in. We also use a CSRF cookie to protect forms. These cookies are required for the site to work; we do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
If an administrator assigns you a Raspberry Pi, the portal stores that assignment. While you use the viewer we process live camera streams and, if you enable it, joystick commands for that board. Stream and control traffic is operational data for the assigned equipment, not a public feed.
How we use information
- to create or connect your Groza account
- to keep you signed in
- to show you Raspberry Pis an administrator has assigned to you
- to authorize camera viewing and joystick control for those boards
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for advertising.
Sharing
Google is the identity provider when you use Sign in with Google; Google’s own privacy policy applies to their processing. We do not share your account with other third parties except as needed to run the portal (hosting this site) or if required by law.
A new Google sign-in creates a non-admin account with no Raspberry Pi access until an administrator assigns one.
Retention
We keep your account until an administrator deletes it, or until we shut down the portal. Session cookies last for the browser session / cookie lifetime configured on the server.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time. You can disconnect Groza from your Google account in Google’s account security settings. To correct or delete your Groza account, ask the portal administrator.
